The University of Agder is in southern Norway, and is among the youngest of Norway's 8 universities, being officially founded in 2007.
It delivers education based on the Norwegian model and bases itself on Norway's high quality of living. The campus buildings have everything you need in one place: library, cafeteria and accommodation to name a few, all enclosed by park grounds, close to beaches, and all within walking distance to the city centre, Kristiansand.
There is a range of support for students, including a buddy system, 60 student activities and a strong international student support network.
This is a fast-growing city, known for its culture, beautiful scenery and excellent student environment. The university wants students to have a good time, feel valued and become part of the overall community.

Choosing your modules
You need to gain the following credits from your modules:
- 27 to 30 ECTS (European) credits per semester
- 54 to 60 ECTS (European) credits per year

Academic calendar
The academic year is split into 2 semesters:
- Semester 1: August to December
- Semester 2: January to June

Accommodation
Accommodation abroad
All exchange students are guaranteed accommodation.
You can apply for accommodation after you have received your letter of acceptance. You will receive an application code with your letter.

If you study abroad for 1 semester, you are guaranteed York St John University accommodation for the semester you are in York.

Immigration laws are complex and subject to frequent changes.
