Our commitment to addressing concerns

York St John University is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive community, ensuring that concerns are addressed promptly and in accordance with our established policies, fostering an environment conducive to the personal and academic growth of all our students.

You can find out more by reading our policies below.

We are also actively enhancing our commitment to a secure and inclusive campus environment with the development of a Sexual Violence and Harassment Policy. This policy aims to provide clear guidelines for preventing and responding to incidents.

Alongside this, we are reviewing the Staff Personal Relationship Policy in collaboration with Human Resources and Organisational Development (HROD) colleagues. This review reflects our dedication to maintaining professional boundaries among staff, ensuring a workplace culture of fairness, transparency, and positive working relationships.

Report and Support

The Student Dignity and Respect Policy sets out the University's expectations for student behaviour and conduct, as well as that of our wider community.

Any conduct or behaviour which contravenes these expectations and jeopardises the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our students and community is not acceptable.

The Report and Support online platform provides further information about unacceptable behaviours, how to make disclosures and report incidents, and where to seek help and support.

From Monday 4 March 2024, visit the event space in the Fountains Library to find out more about All About Respect and our Report and Support service.
