Welcome to the activities of The History Girls in York.
The History Girls is run by food and social history writer Claire Davies. We collaborate to deliver special events, educational workshops and community activities throughout Yorkshire. Our expertise can also be utilised by businesses looking to include a historical food element to their services.
The History Girls believe that understanding our food past is crucial to engaging with a positive food future. We aim to encourage a creative, mindful and most importantly, exciting approach to cooking and eating in the 21st century.
The food blog found here is written by Claire and aims to encourage others to take inspiration from history and be creative in their own kitchens. In addition to her freelance work as The Greedy Wordsmith, Claire is a contributor to local online magazine YorkMix and a regular guest writer on other sites. She can often be found sharing her passion on local radio and at festival demonstrations, and is always open to new opportunities to espouse the philosophy behind The History Girls’ work.

Heya fantastic website! Does running a blog such as this take a lot of work?
I have virtually no knowledge of programming however I was hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyhow, if you
have any suggestions or tips for new blog owners please share.
I understand this is off subject however I simply had to ask.
Good answer back in return of this matter with genuine arguments and telling everything regarding that.
An impressive share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a friend who was conducting a little research on this.
And he actually ordered me dinner due to the fact that I
found it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this….
Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending the time
to discuss this topic here on your web page.
Thanks Katharina. If you’re friend would like to follow more of my on going please do tell him to pop over to the sister site http://firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope you enjoyed the food. 🙂
