Archives at Dusk

Date: Thursday 14th May

Time: 6.00 – 8.30pm

The History Girls have been invited to participate in this years Archives at Dusk – part of the national Museums at Night event. This year North Yorkshire County Records Office have chosen the theme of food for their annual open evening and we will be assisting in the display of their collection of manuscript recipes. There will even be some tasty samples to taste as well. Drop by for a fascinating insight into the work of the office and a glimpse behind the scenes.

1. Brighouse 1940’s Festival

Date: Saturday 6th – Sunday 7th June

Love Bread Community Bakery Workshop

Once again The History Girls will collaborate in delivering a workshop at this fantastic bakery – this time as part of the Brighouse 1940’s Festival. The session will focus on food during wartime and rationing. Details still to be confirmed.

2. York Festival of Ideas

Date: Saturday 20th June

Anglo – Saxon Beer and Bread

The History Girls will be collaborating in this excellent event looking at how the Anglo Saxons ate and drank. Full details still to be confirmed.

3. Wild Harvest Rural Crafts and Wild Food Weekend

Date: Sunday 28th June

Claire will be joining Di Hammill at her unique weekend of rural crafts, self sufficiency and yoga weekend. Di has invited The History Girls to deliver a two hour workshop as part of the programme for the last day of this excellent weekend. A community ran craft and cafe fair with the aim of promoting local businesses within Acomb

The History Girls will be participating in this excellent community event. Pop along to buy our infamous TigerNuts and find out more about what we do.
