Who is this course for?
This course is intended for health and social care professionals who work with individual clients who wish to expand their knowledge and skill base.
What will I learn?
Through this 1 day course you will:
- Learn about the meaning, background and techniques of CBT
- Discover how to use CBT for the assessments of clients
- Consider how to formulate clients' problems with CBT
- Explore some of the Common Treatment Interventions associated with CBT
- Prepare to use CBT to complement your own working practices, and further enhance your skills and competence in your role
Attending this course means you can go on to use your CBT skills within the therapeutic alliance, creating lasting change for the clients you work with. The CBT skills you learn will also be useful beyond the workplace, in other areas of your life.
How will I learn?
This is an interactive face to face session which will include opportunities to practise your CBT skills. You will work in small groups to share knowledge and learning and reflect on specific scenarios.

Course leader biographies
Matthew Cole is a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist who has been in practice for nearly 30 years. He has worked for a range of organisations including the NHS, the MOD, mental health charities and the private sector.
He has worked with a vast range of individuals, groups and organisations using CBT-based interventions as the agent of change.
