When you join us you will be allocated an academic tutor on arrival, for academic support throughout your exchange.
Modules and credits
You can see a full list of modules or classes for Study Abroad and Exchange students in the module catalogues below. These catalogues are for the 2022-23 academic year, and are subject to change. An up to date catalogue will be sent to applicants each semester to choose classes from.
You must choose your modules from the catalogue above. More detailed information for each module can be found on our online catalogue. Please note that not all modules on the online catalogue are available for incoming Study Abroad and Exchange students.
We operate a flexible modular structure which lets you choose the modules most suited to you and your course:
- A full time workload is 60 York St John University credits per semester
- Most modules are worth 10 or 20 credits
60 York St John University credits per semester transfers to:
- 15 US credits
- 15 Canadian credits
- 48 Australian credits
- 16 Japanese credits
- 15 Korean credits
- 30 ECTS

Teaching and assessment
You will study alongside our full degree students and complete the same assessments. These are usually written assignments or examinations.
An academic transcript of results will be sent to you or your home institution after your marks have been confirmed.
English Language and Study skills support

Our academic calendar is split into 2 semesters:
- Semester 1 runs from September to January (or December if there is an overlap of semester dates with your home institution)
- Semester 2 runs from January to May
We welcome students for semester 1, semester 2 or the full year.
