Key priorities for the Primary partnership
To:
- Develop an ambitious and high quality curriculum (in response to CCF and ECF)
- Review the grading of trainees whilst maintaining a rigorous approach to tracking progress and responding to emerging needs
- Increase student teacher competence and confidence in relation to TS6 with a focus on use of data
- Increase student teacher understanding of their own and their pupils' mental health/wellbeing
- (Primary only) Increase undergraduate student teacher confidence and competence in teaching pupils with English as an additional language and pupils from all ethnic backgrounds
- (Secondary only) Increase student teacher competence and confidence in relation to TS2 with a focus on metacognition
- (Secondary only) Increase student teacher competence and confidence in relation to TS3
- To establish York St John as a national centre for teacher education pedagogical and research excellence
- Adapt and enrich NQT provision in light of the particular needs of the 19/20 cohort
- Action revised Link Tutor strategy
- Increase student teacher understanding of high-quality remote learning (both their own and for their pupils).
