Join us for our annual colour throw, where we celebrate Holi festival, a spectacularly beautiful and colourful event, and the best excuse to get extremely messy!

Holi might be during the Easter holiday this year, but we couldn't miss out on one of our favourite events. We'll be celebrating early with gorgeous mehndi tattoos and mandalas, before heading outside for the joy of colour throwing!

Wednesday 10 April: Eid

Eid al-Fitr is the earlier of the two official holidays celebrated within Islam. While the Qur'an does not mention the celebration of Eid, the religious holiday of Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Come and join in with delicious food, festive music and of course, some dancing!

Week of 22 April: Global Campus De-Stress Fest

De-stress Fest is here to help you relax and unwind. Boost your mood with free events happening across campus all week and daily freebies form the Global Campus Hub in Holgate. Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? York St John's De-stress Fest, brought to you by Global Campus, is here to help. From free yoga or breathing sessions to puzzle and game time, and even cuddles with our very own therapy dogs, wellbeing services across campus have come together to help you recharge and relax.

Friday 3 May: Cruces de Mayo

The May Crosses Festival celebrated in Andalucia, Spain, is a fascinating historical festival. As legend has it, St Constantine's mother, St Helen, is the founder of this festival, which shows special respect for the cross upon which Jesus was crucified. The festival consists of the construction of large crosses made of beautiful flowers in many of the city’s main squares and of course a full on party atmosphere. Join us as we bring a little bit of the festivities to YSJ.
