Training for Bereavement Counselling series
Join our six-week online Bereavement Counselling training series, offering 18 contact hours, along with reading assignments and personal development tasks. Open to all counsellors and counselling support volunteers, the course assumes a minimum foundation of basic counselling skills and knowledge of a person-centered approach.
The sessions are held every Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm on the following dates:

- Saturday 27 January 2024
- Saturday 3 February 2024
- Saturday 10 February 2024
- Saturday 17 February 2024

Training for Bereavement Counselling (Eventbrite)
Introduction to Counselling Children and Young People
On this course, you will develop the basic skills needed to start working with children and young people. This course is for qualified counsellors wishing to begin working towards a qualification in counselling children and young people. It is also appropriate for students wishing to undertake some of their placement hours with children or young people.
This course will be held on campus and will take place across 4 days, with teaching from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day. The dates for this course are on the following dates:

Introduction to Counselling Children and Young People
Domestic Abuse Counselling
Learn how to help and support others in situations that need your guidance. This course is designed to cover theory and practice to help you to understand what domestic abuse is and how prevalent it is across society. You will look at the clients experience, the needs of the client and the areas of practice that you need to be most aware of when working with people who have experienced abuse. This is not just learning about the theory, but learning how to apply the theory in a real world scenario.
This course will be held on campus and is scheduled across the following four days:

Domestic Abuse Counselling
Counselling Adolescents: Using the Person-Centred Approach
Join our one-day workshop where we will explore theories relating to the brain development of young people. You will learn the process of working with clients who are adolescents and will gain an understanding on how this theory fits in with the person-centred approach. This course would be beneficial to counsellors who work with children and young people.
This course will be held on campus on Monday 20 May 2024.

Your gift helps cover the cost of providing free services such as our community language school, bereavement group and café's, student suicide support group 'Laurens Ladies' and drop-ins such as the weekly breastfeeding group.
As our income grows, so too does our staff team of receptionists, administrators, co-ordinators, assessors, supervisors, counsellors, coaches, and group facilitators, and your support is needed to ensure they are actively involved in service delivery and are remunerated for their work.
